Our hotel can look back upon a heritage full of ups and downs
as is characteristic of recent German history.
Emma Würfel was the person who gave our Villa Emma Hotel
its name. She was the wife of Wilhelm Würfel, the royal chef
and first owner of the park hotel in the White Deer spa gardens
near Dresden.
In 1906, this building was opened as the second annex of the
old park hotel. Two years later, the original park hotel was
pulled down and the White Deer Exporting Company from
Berlin developed plans for rebuilding the hotel. After Jaques
Bettenhausen purchased it in 1914, the hotel complex was
successfully operated by the White Deer Spa Gardens and
Park Hotel company. It was quickly transformed into the
buzzing centre of the business society in the wealthy
White Deer section of Dresden.
